Canada HAS supplied an amazing number of comedians and other performers to the world. Candy was hilarious, but I personally think Martin Short is the funniest man alive. Or is it Mike Meyers? (Jim Carrey is funny, but I have never been able to watch one of his movies twice. Too intense…!)
Nothing has ever matched the oddness of SCTV, in my estimation. Some shows may have been funnier, but nothing was ever as relentless as that show, and the late John Candy was a big part.
