Ah yes, the great white north. At least Calgarians know how to handle snow. We islanders shut down when we get the stuff.

Wendy, were you living on the island during the blizzard of 1996? It was late December and Victoria basically shut down. It was pretty epic. πŸ™‚

Michelle, yes I was living here then. I remember taking my firstborn to a doctor appointment that winter and having a truck run me off the road on a sharp corner. The guy behind me witnessed it and then helped me get my truck out of the snowbank. I made a chocolate cake for his family. ❀

I WISH it were a joke! It’s so weird. The snow is SO wet and heavy – we’re not used to snow like that here, never mind that it doesn’t usually snow in early September, either. Normally when it does snow it’s so cold that the snow is dry and fluffy. And now it’s foggy here this morning, which is also unusual!

But today it’s supposed to be warm and sunny so hopefully all the snow doesn’t melt in a rush and cause flooding on top of everything else. πŸ™‚

Thanks, P!! My friend just gave me my 35-minute warning for a pickup. All I know is that it’s a restaurant, for brunch. πŸ™‚

This is WAY too early. I’m not ready for snow yet.

Neither am I! That’s why I thought a joke when I read it. And just this morning, as I was watching CNN, some northern states had snow as well. Too weird, eh?
