This blog is about Canada and Canadians.  History, trivia … just about anything you can think of — and lots more to come!

There are many ways to learn trivia.  For instance, have you ever played the board game Trivial Pursuit?  It’s a lot of fun.

88 million people agree with me.  The game’s creators are Scott Abbott and Chris Haney, of Montreal.  They created it in Montreal, and reportedly made $500,000 for every $1,000 put into it!  That’s a heck of a return!!

Sites to visit are Hasbro Games; and you can play online at Pogo.com; and you can see how to play it on YouTube. Want a book with a collection of Questions and Answers in the game? Then I suggest The Ultimate TRIVIAL PURSUIT Question & Answer Book.

A sad note, however, The Globe and Mail reports on Chris Haney’s passing.

In high school, my group of friends would have a trivial pursuit night once a month (huge geeks!) The guys were so competitive, they would study the cards… The girls still usually won.

That sounds like fun! Yes, I remember friends cheating by memorizing the cards! Good times! 🙂

We played scrabble and monopoly more than Trivial Pursuit. Too sad about Chris to die so young. 😦

I think I’ve played Monopoly maybe just once … Maybe one and a half. 🙂

My family and friends have enjoyed Trivial Pursuit for years. It brought us hours of fun, competition and challenge. Sorry to hear of one of the founder’s passing…

Yes, it is too bad. However, he did find success in his efforts. And, oh how we enjoy it, eh?
Thanks for dropping by, Theresa, and for the comment! 🙂
